Why Adrian Campbell is building on Lombok

Lombok is the island immediately east of Bali, across the Lombok Strait. It has the beaches and surf that made Bali famous, with a fraction of the development. Tourism is growing fast: the province of Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) recorded 2,382,008 visitor arrivals in 2025, up 47%, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS).
The Indonesian government has backed that growth with the Mandalika Special Economic Zone on the south coast, home to the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit and MotoGP. Lombok International Airport serves the island, and Lembar port connects it to Bali by ferry.
Adrian's case for Lombok
Adrian's case for Lombok is simple. Bali's best coastal land is taken and expensive. Lombok's is still available, the government wants it developed responsibly, and Australian buyers already know the region.
His development business, Kinnara Capital, has assembled its land in Buwun Mas and Sekotong on the island's south-west peninsula, where it is developing Saraya Beach Resort & Residences.
Buying on Lombok as a foreigner
Foreigners can't hold freehold (SHM) land in Indonesia. They buy through a leasehold, or through an Indonesian PMA company holding a building right (HGB). Buyers should check the land certificate at the BPN land office and confirm the building permit (PBG) and zoning (PKKPR). They should also use an independent notary.
